I was able to establish the needs of AH classics as an outcome of business process modelling. AH Classics, as a company, must adapt its old system into a new one in order to expand its operations. The highlighted priority issues include a lack of database management, unavailability of spare parts, and a computer system that is always breaking down.
To solve business challenges, the POPIT model gives a valuable viewpoint to assess needs, opportunities, and desired changes. Process, Organization, People, Information, and Technology are acronyms for the POPIT model.
The POPIT model's perspective benefits in better alignment of the change, needs, solution, stakeholder, value, and context. To comprehend any change that is taking place inside an organization, a POPIT gap analysis may be done between the present state (AS-IS) and the future state (TO-BE) utilizing the POPIT model.
In digital transformation programs and initiatives, there is a focus on technology to solve a business problem. However, as the project proceeds, particularly in a complex area, it will become clear that implementing a technological solution may have influence and ramifications on the process, organization, people, and data.
The future state business process may be determined when working on the future state analysis (TO-BE), which provides a foundation for understanding how the technology solution will work alongside the future state business processes.
It's common to think about things from an organizational standpoint and to be aware of present organizational structures and reporting lines (TO-BE).
To support the future state, people strategy, leadership development, workforce development, and skills and training are required (TO-BE).
Therefore, the technology gaps are often the ones that may require enhancements or replacement to support the future state.
I was able to learn how to define the answer to business challenges using this method. When any technology is being planned for deployment, use the POPIT model as a reference point to see if the other aspects of the model (process, organization, people, and information) have been updated and are ready and available to support the technology deployment. Finally, I was able to comprehend the applicability of many strategies in various situations. (Nicholas, 2020)
Another useful tool for AH Classics business diagnostic is the McKinsey 7s Model. This approach aids in determining which aspects of the organization are linked to the strategy to be adopted, as well as which areas will require adjustments after the plan is implemented.
